I’m so glad Seinfeld came along and created a way to avoid being smarmy at Christmastime.
The holiday is upon us (today in Australia/Asia, tomorrow in the West) so I thought I’d write a few words to let you know that you’ve already given me the best gift of all this year, just by reading and thinking about taking your life to the next level.
My gift to you is these few tips:
- If the stress of the holidays gets too great, take a break and meditate — even five minutes of calm and quiet will help you to get through your responsibilities and deal with the family.
- If you started a workout plan this year, don’t skip it. Keep on your program, even if it means going through a few no-weight exercises in your bedroom. Likewise, if you’re eating healthier now, feel free to make Christmas Day your “cheat day” where you can eat to your heart’s content, but then get back into your healthy eating habits.
- The holidays are prime time for meeting women if you’re out and about. It’s easy to start conversations in the returns line at the department store, the express line at the supermarket, the line for security at the airport…everyone is more or less in this together, and you can use that to your advantage. Start chatting, determine whether she’s interested or not, and get some digits — or better yet, set a time to get together — then be on your way to the next line (and girl).
Other than that, stay out of trouble, and pretend to be thrilled when mom and dad still give you clothing for Christmas.
